It just flat works !! Connected to my Grizzly table saw and to a 12" miter saw using blast gates...works great.

Dust Collector- 1 hp

Game changer in my 2 car garage workshop area. When it started getting colder out and i couldn't work with the door open anymore this unit, along with an air filter, kept me moving. With a 20ft hose and the mobile base it gets to anywhere I need it, while still being quiet enough to not disturb the family in the house.

Game Changer for small work shop

Used an older model when loaned to me to plane many feet of red oak and was impressed with its performance so decided to purchase my own.  Have used it and it has performed well. When comparing the older with the new I was disappointed that the new model had a plastic collection bag with a strap instead of the cloth bag. Attaching the plastic bag is difficult at best. You can buy the cloth bag separately but that adds additional cost. Also, the new collector is built lighter than the older one. The new collector is top heavy so had to build a heavier base with larger casters to keep it more stable and easier to move, 
Will buy the cloth bag and hope it is easier to install.  Hope the collector continues to perform for years to come. It's made my shop life much cleaner.

Old vs New

Recently purchased the G8027. Haven't had the chance to use it much so far, but the few times I have it seems to work well. Difficult to adapt to some tools with small ports. Purchased the "stack adapter " but it doesn't fit well with surface planer or contractor table saw because all adapters in the stack are hard plastic and I can't get a good tight fit.

Adequate for small shops

Dust collector showed up with flaking paint on the body and support arms. 
Looks like it was repaired before.
They offered to send me touch up paint to fix it.
Very unsatisfied with that. The collector itself works great, but details matter.
This is the last grizzly brand product that I will ever buy.

There's better out there

This is an entry level dust collector so I was not expecting much. There are three very annoying aspects to this unit. First, it comes with a plastic collection bag at the bottom. To change it, one has to literally have four arms to hold it in place while closing the band clamp. Very frustrating! Second, there are two - what I will call - blower anti-vibration mounting screws that were simply tossed into the packaging. No instructions on what to do with them. Once you get the unit fully assembled, you find out that they needed to be inserted very early in the process. I had to tear the unit back down in order to get them inserted properly. Finally, the unit is underpowered. 500 cfm for a unit this size in disappointing.

Underperformer

The bag is tiny and it does not seem to have good suction

I would not recommend or buy again.
